Diocese of Indore spreads Christmas message of hope, renewal
The Diocese of Indore has called on its faithful to embrace the Christmas season as “Pilgrims of Hope,” highlighting the transformative power of hope and renewal in a world facing increasing challenges.
This message was shared during a press conference organized by the Diocese’s Public Relations Office and Communication Commission on December 23, 2024, at St. Francis Assisi Cathedral in Indore, India.
According to the press release, the event, attended by 70 journalists, began with a warm welcome from Fr. Sumit, the Diocese’s Public Relations Officer. Mr. Alwaris, the event moderator, introduced the dignitaries present, including Bishop Thomas Mathew of Indore; Fr. Anthony Swamy SVD, Secretary of the Communication Commission CBMP; Fr. Sumit Tahir, PRO; Fr. Clarence Srambickal SVD; Fr. Cyriac Peter SVD; and Sr. Ganga Rawat SSpS. The atmosphere was set by the Cathedral parish youth choir, who performed Christmas carols to open the event with festive cheer.
Bishop Thomas Mathew delivered a poignant keynote address, focusing on the centrality of hope in the Christmas message.
“In a world increasingly marked by hopelessness, violence, and despair, the message of Christmas—the birth of Jesus Christ—reminds us of the unshakable hope that transforms lives,” the bishop said. “Christ’s birth calls us to be pilgrims of hope, bringing light to a world in need.”
The press release detailed how Fr. Sumit shared plans for Christmas programs across the Diocese’s parishes, underscoring their commitment to spreading joy and unity within the community.
The activities are designed to bring the theme of hope to life, inspiring a renewed sense of purpose among the faithful.
The conference concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where journalists engaged with the dignitaries on the event’s theme and upcoming initiatives. The session highlighted the collaborative effort to amplify the message of hope and joy during the season.
The Diocese of Indore invites everyone to embrace the theme of “Pilgrims of Hope” by reflecting the true spirit of Christmas—unity, renewal, and the enduring light of hope.
