Bishops publish Indian edition of pope’s encyclical "Dilexit Nos"
The Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) has proudly released the Indian edition of Pope Francis' latest encyclical, Dilexit Nos ("He Loved Us").
The formal release event was held on November 3, 2024, at the Archbishop’s House in New Delhi.
Archbishop Anil Joseph Thomas Couto, Secretary-General of the CCBI, led the unveiling ceremony. He was joined by a distinguished panel of Church leaders and representatives, including Fr. Stephen Alathara, Deputy Secretary-General of the CCBI; Fr. Mathew Koyickal; Sr. Rahil Lakra; and lay leaders Mr. Nihal Pedric and Mr. Nigel Fernandes.
Dilexit Nos, published by Pope Francis on October 24, 2024, aligns with the Church’s ongoing celebrations of the 350th anniversary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus’ first apparition to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in 1673.
The encyclical invites all Christians to a profound contemplation of Christ's heart, portraying it as the ultimate symbol of God’s unwavering and redemptive love.
In his message, Pope Francis underscores that this divine love is not an abstract concept; it is deeply personal and tangible, resonating through the trials, hopes, and quiet moments of everyday life.
He calls on the faithful to view the heart of Christ as a model for living an accessible, universal spirituality that is intricately woven into daily human experience.
