Bishops’ Bible Commission to hold All India Bible Congress 2025

Bible Congress January 21 -23, 2025.

The Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) Commission for Bible will organize the “All India Bible Congress 2025” in South India.

The event will take place from January 21-23, 2025, at the Shrine Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health, Vailankanni, Tamil Nadu, India.

The congress is organized to mark the Year of Jubilee, declared by Pope Francis, and sixty years of “Dei verbum” (Word of God).

“Dei verbum” is one of the key documents of the Second Vatican Council. It is the Second Vatican Council's Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation. Pope Paul VI promulgated it on November 18, 1965.

During the opening of the All India Bible Congress 2025, a veteran Bible professor will present a keynote address, followed by inspiring presentations by renowned Biblical scholars.

It will have engaging workshops using Scripture in pastoral ministry.

Participants include bishops, priests, nuns, professors, lay faithful, youth, catechists, preachers, and ministers of the Word of God. However, those involved in Bible ministry will receive priority.

Organizers say all sessions will be in English. They will provide free food and accommodation.

By equipping the laity, clergy, and religious men and women with the Bible, the CCBI Commission for Bible seeks to establish a Bible culture and advance a Biblical apostolate.

This will enable the Church in India to be well-equipped to work toward the transformation of the nation according to the principles of God's Kingdom.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
