Bangladesh’s Rajshahi diocese holds awareness and Christian formation program for College Students
The Diocese of Rajshahi in Bangladesh held an awareness and Christian formation program for College Students at Christo Jyoti (light) Pastoral Centre from October 5 to 9.
The main aim of the youth formation program was to impart moral formation to the college students in Christian values and Catholic teachings in order to enable them to give faithful witness to the Church.
As many as 133 students from 26 parishes of the diocese, along with youth animators, priests, and nuns, participated in this youth formation program.
Father Nabin Pius Costa, the Rajshahi Diocesan Youth Commission coordinator said, "This awareness program" takes classes on various subjects in students' future lives. "Because today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders of the church."
"We need to take care of you by guiding you morally and spiritually," said the priest.
The diocese organized this youth formation program with the primary goal of educating the next generation about living a decent and meaningful life. It is also aimed at helping them avoid wrong decisions and wrong paths at this age. They should learn that human life is very beautiful.
In this five-day formation program, many priests, nuns, and professors shed light on different topics, such as the Bible, church history, adolescence, Church law, morality, what a synodal Church is, what we must do for a synodal Church, Career Planning, etc.
Presiding over the mass, Father Fabian Marandi, Vicar General of Rajshahi Diocese, said in his homily, "The youth of today is the future of tomorrow. Country, nation, and society will be managed through you. So, I want to tell you that the hopes and dreams you came here with may be fulfilled in your life."
Sreya S. Gomes, one of the participants, claimed that she has learned many things, especially about "morality, skill development, and Church teachings that we could use to serve the Church, and it also carries my Christian life for the future to be a good Catholic."
The program also included daily prayers, Eucharistic celebration, Way of the Cross, Rosary Prayer, quiz competition drama, etc. - Nikhil Gomes
