Pope Francis sent a heartfelt message to U.S. President Donald J. Trump on the occasion of his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States, offering prayers and divine blessings for the President, his family, and the American people.

In his message, Pope Francis expressed his hope that God would grant President Trump wisdom, strength, and protection as he takes on the responsibilities of his office.

"On the occasion of your inauguration as the forty-seventh President of the United States of America," the Pope said, "I offer cordial greetings and the assurance of my prayers that Almighty God will grant you wisdom, strength, and protection in the exercise of your high duties."

The pope also reflected on the ideals of the United States, emphasizing the nation’s commitment to being a land of opportunity and welcoming for all.

"I hope that under your leadership the American people will prosper and always strive to build a more just society, where there is no room for hatred, discrimination or exclusion," he said.

Acknowledging the many challenges facing the world, including the ongoing threat of war, Pope Francis prayed for guidance in President Trump's efforts to promote peace and reconciliation.

"As our human family faces numerous challenges, not to mention the scourge of war, I also ask God to guide your efforts in promoting peace and reconciliation among peoples," Fracnis said.

Concluding his message, the Holy Father invoked divine blessings upon President Trump, his family, and the American people, praying for an abundance of blessings in their endeavors.

"With these sentiments," Pope Francis concluded, "I invoke upon you, your family, and the beloved American people an abundance of divine blessings."
