On January 5, Pope Francis reflected on the guiding star that led the Magi to Jesus —a universal symbol of hope and direction—calling on everyone to seek Christ in all aspects of life.

Delivering his homily during the Mass on the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, the pope emphasized three key characteristics of the star: its brightness, universality, and guiding nature.

He contrasted the star’s radiant light with the cold, artificial splendor often associated with earthly rulers, highlighting that the star reflects God’s selfless and tender love.

This love, he said, calls believers to lead others to Christ through faith, compassion, and kindness.

Francis also underscored that the star was “visible to all,” reminding us of God’s inclusive love that embraces every person, culture, and language.

He called for a culture of welcome, rejecting discrimination and promoting peace and harmony in our communities.

Finally, the Pope noted that the star “points the way,” urging the faithful to embark on a journey of faith during the Jubilee of Hope.

He invited Christians to be generous, humble, and united as they seek to encounter Christ and honor Him.

Francis concluded by encouraging all to embrace their identity as followers “of the Way,” building bridges of peace and living in charity.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
