World Autism Awareness Day: April 2, 2022
World Autism Awareness Day promotes, protects, and ensures the full and equal enjoyment of all human rights and fundamental freedoms by all persons with disabilities, and respects their inherent dignity.
“Persons with autism have the right to self-determination, independence, and autonomy, as well as the right to education and employment on an equal basis with others,” said UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in his message this year.
Hundreds of thousands of landmarks, buildings, homes and communities around the world are set to light up in blue in recognition of people with autism and those who love and support them.
