On the Solemnity of All Saints, Pope Francis said that the lives of the saints inspire us to live radically “countercultural” and “revolutionary" lives as peacemakers.

Sainthood is celebrated for those who are canonized and those who are not canonized

On the Solemnity of All Saints Pope Francis leads the recitation of the Angelus prayer in Saint Peter's Square reflecting on how the Beatitudes show us the path that leads to the Kingdom of God and to happiness. To be a saint, he says, is to walk on this road, especially through joy and prophecy manifested in our lives.

The author invites Catholics and church leadership to rekindle the faith in the resurrection, reexamine the prevailing traditions around All Saints Day and All Souls Say and to express faith in inaccurate ways in light of the Christian mystery.

Without this feast of All Saints Day, the celebration of All Souls day becomes an exercise in self pity and even horror of death.
