Who is this Jesus?

Let us ask to see Jesus today, to see him with our hearts and not with our minds or intellect.
Herod is puzzled because he is being told that Jesus is John the Baptist raised from the dead. At the same time, others told that he is Elijah, whose expected return would signal the arrival of the Messiah, or one of the former biblical prophets has reappeared. Herod recently beheaded John the Baptist, and the superstitious king is filled with fear and curiosity.
He “kept trying to see Jesus.”
Herod was eager to see Him. This curiosity was driven by his fascination to know Jesus. However, meeting Jesus did not have any positive influence on Herod because he had no faith in Jesus. Do we have curiosity to know and to see Jesus? Our curiosity should be accompanied by faith to encounter Him and allow him to transform our personal life.
Who is this Jesus to us? Does he give meaning to our life? Do we really mean that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, who gives meaning to our life? Let us ask to see Jesus today, to see him with our hearts and not with our minds or intellect. Seeing with our hearts leads to encountering the risen Christ, which changes our vision of life.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
