Trust in God's Authority
July 2, 2024 Tuesday of the Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time
Daily Readings: Amos 3:1-8; 4:11-12; Matthew 8:23-27
Today, we are reminded of the power and authority of God. The prophet Amos calls the people of Israel to listen and pay attention, for God does not act without revealing His plans to His servants, the prophets.
Just as God displayed His power over the nations by bringing disaster upon them, He also calls each one of us to repentance and conversion.
In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus calms the storm with just a few words. He rebukes the winds and the sea, demonstrating His authority over the forces of nature. This miracle reminds us that God is in control of all things, and we can trust Him to calm the storms in our lives.
We are invited to trust in the Lord, even when faced with uncertainty and challenges. Just as the disciples turned to Jesus in their time of need, we too must turn to Him and have faith that He will guide us through the storms of life. Remember that God is always with us, ready to calm the storms and bring us peace.
Call to Action for Catholic Living: Trust in God's Ever-Present Help. Let us listen to His voice and follow His commands, knowing that He will never abandon us. May we trust in His power and authority, and may we always turn to Him in times of trouble.
Let us ask God for the strength and courage to face the challenges that lie ahead, knowing that He is always beside us. Amen.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
