Daily Readings: First reading: Colossians 1:21–23; Gospel:  Luke 6:1–5

The conflict between the letter of the law and the spirit of the law is among the most hypocritical discussions in human history. Very often, those in good positions are the ones holding on to the letter of the law, but once the situation goes the other way around, they will shift to the spirit of the law as quickly as possible.

Those are the kinds of mindsets Saint Paul is talking about in the first reading: alienated and hostile, which lead to evil deeds. According to Saint Paul, the only way out of such a system is for those who have received reconciliation from God through Jesus. And Jesus himself says, "I am the Lord of the Sabbath." Meaning to say that those who live in me and follow my way can never be condemned. And we know that the law of Jesus is love.

He or she who loves does not hold on to the letter of the law but rather to the goodness of his brother or sister. Do not focus on the offense but on the intention of the doer.

Let Jesus be the Lord of our principles of life.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
