Daily Readings: First reading: Daniel 2:31–45; Gospel: Luke 21:5–11

What attracts us spontaneously and naturally is what our eyes see. As we heard in today's reading, the attractive stones adorning the temples drew attention from those around Jesus. The designers want to mesmerize the viewers with their artistic outlays. That tendency lives on with us humans. Crowds go around the world to view the earliest basilicas, cathedrals, and churches, as well as temples and mosques.

Jesus looks at and views everything with his inner eyes, which open up wisdom hidden within. And he comments after seeing what others saw: The days will come when there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.” His advice is to look, but don't let appearances fool you or lead you astray.

We can easily get lost in externals and take for granted the true temples that we are, which are so much more valuable and precious than the decorated outlandish buildings. He is encouraging us to open our inner eyes, value, and admire the true kingdom within us so that we won’t be led astray.

Times have changed. Robots have come in. Some are getting attracted to artificial ‘Sophias’ more than real women. The latest scenario in the world is Artificial Intelligence that can make divine voices say, “I am He”.

I saw a robot in a video playing table tennis with artificial intelligence. I wonder what comments Jesus would have given looking at AI’s newest brands. I suppose the warning from him will be the same.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
