Perishable things can never bring us the fulfillment and joy that we seek
April 24, Monday, 3rd Week of Easter
St.Fidelis of Sigmaringen,priest and martyr
Acts 6:8-15, John 6:22-29
What are we hoping to find when we go in search of Jesus? Do we expect to see signs and wonders? Do we hope that God will bring order to our lives and help us find meaning? Do we seek the Lord because we love Him and long to be with Him?
Our daily lives are full of things that claim that they can bring us happiness. Advertisements for these things are everywhere – on television and the radio, on the internet, in magazines, and newspapers, in our email inboxes, and even on our phones. We are bombarded with messages designed to make us feel dissatisfied with our lives as they are and to convince us that the purchases they propose will make everything better.
But the gospel offers a different message. Perishable things can never bring us the fulfillment and joy that we seek. The joy and fulfillment that will last come from faith in God’s will to eternal life.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
