Daily Readings: Hosea 10:1-3, 7-8, 12; Matthew 10:1-7

In today’s Gospel, Jesus gives his disciples a special commission. He has been teaching them about the kingdom of God, and now he is sending them out to share that message with others.

He gives them a clear understanding of their mission. But despite these challenges, Jesus reminds them that they will have the power of God’s word to guide them and that they will be able to do greater things than he did.

It is an invitation to be messengers of God’s love, just like the disciples were. In this great commission we are not alone. Hence, we need to work with people of good will for the betterment of the world. We must be willing to take risks and step out in faith to share the gospel with others. Just as the disciples were sent out into unknown territories, so too must we be willing to venture out into our communities and share the good news of Jesus Christ.

Call to Action for Catholic Living: We need to be ever prepared for persecution and rejection and to face challenges and obstacles along the way. In all circumstances, God who has called us will guide us. Let us remember that we are called to follow Him and messengers of God’s love, just like the disciples were. May God bless us as we seek to spread His love and message to all people.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
