Living the Beatitudes
September 11, 2024 Wednesday of the Twenty-third Week in Ordinary Time
Daily Readings: 1 Corinthians 7:25-31; Luke 6:20-26
In the Gospel, Jesus blesses the poor, the hungry, the sorrowful, and the persecuted, while warning the rich, the satisfied, and the praised.
These beatitudes challenge the notion that wealth and prosperity are signs of God's favor. Instead, Jesus honors those who are marginalized and suffering, reflecting God's deep concern for justice and compassion.
This teaching asks us to examine our own values: Do we seek the world's rewards, or do we align ourselves with the Kingdom's principles of compassion and justice?
The beatitudes call us to a countercultural way of living, where we recognize our privilege, extend compassion to those in need, and trust in the blessings of God that transcend our present circumstances.
Call to Action for Catholic Living: Let us embrace the values of the Kingdom and live in a state of blessedness, seeking God's justice and compassion in all we do. May God bless our efforts. Amen
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
