Jesus is the healer of life

November 14, Monday of the 33rd Week of Ordinary Time
Daily Readings: Revelation 1: 1-4, 2:1-5, Psalm 1: 1-2. 3.-4. 5, Luke 18: 35-43

Jesus is the son of David who comes to earth to fulfill God's will and establish God's kingdom. God's will is for all humans to be happy and live in peace and equality in this world.

Today’s Gospel is a very familiar one. It is the story of the blind man who is begging on the side of the road.

The blind, sick man has limitations and boundaries to live in peace and join with others in joy. He cannot because he is blind and poor. He is crying out and calling on Jesus to heal him of his sickness and come out of his limitations and boundaries. Jesus responds to his calling and fulfills his desire according to his faith.

We have seen and recognized two events that are significant in today's reading. We must continue to ask with faith and without hesitation. And our faith can heal us and help us have a meaningful life with Jesus, who is the healer of life.

Today, we might consider the strength of our faith. Do we believe and have faith that Jesus hears our prayers? Do we trust that Jesus will respond, strengthen, and cure us in times of extreme need? Having faith in Jesus may not be as simple as it sounds! When life is awful, scary, and confusing, it can be very hard to put your trust in Jesus.

During these difficult and terrifying times, we need to reach down deep for our faith and trust that Jesus is always with us. We need to hang onto the hope that He will help us get through this situation. We can pray for the grace to put our trust and hope in him today!
