Humility in greatness

Isaac Newton was a physicist, mathematician, astronomer, natural philosopher, alchemist, and theologian. One day, one of his admirers said, "If you contemplate your achievements, you must feel a sense of pride and satisfaction." "If I have seen further, it is standing on the shoulders of giants who have gone before me," he said when asked about the magnitude of his contribution.
That's what it means to be humble: to see the wonders around you and the greatness in others, no matter how much you've accomplished.
In the gospel today, Jesus went to dine at the home of one of the leading Pharisees, and noticing how they were choosing the places of honor at the table, he told them the parable of the wedding feast.
Jesus said, "When someone invites you to a wedding banquet, do not recline at the table in the place of honor." Instead, go and take the lowest place. " Jesus uses an example from daily life where people who take up high positions are humbled while the humble are taken up the ladder.
The message is not to presume your position but to be humble before God. Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.
May we be able to care more about other people's happiness and success than our own, so that the Lord God will raise us when it's his time.
