Today's Gospel recounts the profound stories of Jairus and the woman suffering from bleeding, highlighting the transformative power of faith. Jairus, a synagogue leader, desperately pleads with Jesus, “My daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed.”

On their way to Jairus’s house, they are interrupted by a woman who has endured twelve years of suffering in silence and isolation. Believing that touching Jesus’s cloak will heal her, she reaches out in faith.

Jesus, feeling the power go out from him, acknowledges her faith and declares her healed. Upon arriving at Jairus’s house, Jesus raises his daughter from the dead, astonishing all with the power of faith.

These narratives teach us that faith transcends our circumstances and rests in our trust in God. Even as Jairus’s daughter dies, Jesus raises her because of Jairus's faith. This illustrates that God is always working for our good, even when it is not visible to us.

God’s compassion and mercy are evident. He sees our suffering and pain and desires to heal us, both physically and spiritually. Every individual is valued by God and deserves His attention and care.

Call to Action for Catholic Living: Lord, help us to trust in you even when we can’t see your plan. Increase our faith so that we may have unwavering trust like Jairus, believing in your power to heal both body and soul. A faith as solid as a rock moves the heart of God. Amen.
