God has called us to live as a missionary disciple
April 25, Tuesday, 3rd Week of Easter
Feast of St. Mark, Evangelist
1 Peter 5:5b-14, Mark 16:15-20
Today’s readings offer a summary of the qualities necessary for living a faithful Christian Life. A faithful disciple will show respect for authority, living with humility rather than calling attention to themselves. They will trust their lives with all their concerns to the Lord, relying on Him to grant them comfort and peace. Disciples will persevere in faith despite trials, secure in their hope, founded in God’s promise of eternal glory. Finally, they will proclaim the Good News to all they meet, witnessing the goodness and grace of God in word and deed.
God has called us to live as missionary disciples from the first days of the Church. Having been redeemed by the saving death of the Lord Jesus, how can we do anything but share that most precious gift with the people we love? The joy, hope, and grace that surround us compel us to go out and proclaim the good news of salvation, secure in the knowledge that God will keep us safe, support us in times of trial, and allow our efforts to bear fruit.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
