Faith in the Resurrection
July 3, Feast of Saint Thomas, Apostle
Daily Readings: Ephesians 2:19-22; John 20:24-29
On the feast day of St. Thomas the Apostle, we are reminded of the importance of faith and belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
St. Thomas, initially skeptical, refused to believe in Jesus' resurrection until he saw Him with his own eyes. When Jesus appeared to Thomas and invited him to touch His wounds, He said, “Do not doubt but believe.” In response, Thomas made a profound profession of faith, proclaiming, “My Lord and my God!”
Like Thomas, we too may experience moments of doubt and disbelief in our lives. We may question God’s presence and His love for us.
However, just as Jesus revealed Himself to Thomas and invited him to believe, He extended the same invitation to us. He calls us to have faith, even when we cannot see or fully understand.
St. Thomas teaches us the importance of seeking the truth and encountering Jesus personally in our lives. We are called to be witnesses of the resurrection and to proclaim the Good News to everyone we meet.
Call to Action for Catholic Living: Let us be bold in our faith, like Thomas, and never be afraid to declare, “My Lord and my God!
May we strive to live out our faith with conviction and love, following the example of St. Thomas and all the apostles who courageously proclaimed the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Let us pray for the grace to believe in the power of God’s love and to live as true witnesses of the resurrection. Amen.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
