Hakuna Matata is one of the songs in the film The Lion King. It is in Kiswahili, which means “no worry”. We tend to worry about many things from the time we wake up until the time we close our eyes at night. What food we will eat and the things we must do It is as if worrying is part of being human.
In the first reading, the brothers of Joseph were worried about what their future would be since their father died, but Joseph, having fortitude with God, assured them that they would not be harmed.
Sometimes our worry is rooted in our strong expectations, fear, feeling of unworthiness, or lack of trust. Jesus invites his disciples to nurture their self-worth and faith. God doesn’t expect more than a person can do; moreover, in the eyes of God, each one has its own intrinsic value. This inner security can only be attained through a deep understanding of oneself and a deep relationship with God.
We ask for God’s grace to remain trusting in God in everything so we too may proclaim with conviction God’s reign on earth.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
