“I recognize You: You are the Holy One of God.”
In 2012, one of the most splendid atheists and the “high pope of Darwinism,” Richard Dawkins, had a debate on BBC Radio 4 with Reverend Giles Frazer on a national poll which found that 50% of the British Christians couldn’t even name the gospels.
Dismissing the finding as trivia, Fraser challenged Dawkins to name the full title (a long one) of his favored book, On the Origin of Species. Dawkins fumbled. His attempt to recall went like this: “On the Origin of Species… uh…. With …oh God …on the Origin of the Species …There is a subtitle…”
Here is the greatest atheist calling upon God in a moment of simple crisis! It is not only the evil spirits who know and recognize God; even atheists do! As they say, there are no atheists in foxholes. Even if we try our best to deny God, the Holy Spirit that inhabits and probes our depths cannot be silenced.
What are those moments in life that we easily deny God?
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
