The Blessings of God

Background Music: Panalangin by Mark Anthony Cuevas
    Voiced by: Shirly Benedictos

May 28, Tuesday of the Eighth Week in Ordinary Time
Daily Readings: 1 Peter 1:10-16; Mark 10:28-31

The first reading calls us to obey God and resist the temptations around us. The invitation is to be holy in all that we do, just as God, who called us, is holy.

In today's Gospel, Jesus told Peter that those who follow him and leave behind their family for the gospel will receive a hundredfold blessing, but he also warned him that there will be persecutions along the way. But in the age to come, he will receive eternal life.

Serving God always brings blessings. Many of the church's servants testify that life becomes so easy despite difficulties that God never abandons them.

A priest once shared the saying, "Walang naglilingkod sa simbahan na pinapabayaan ng Diyos." God does not neglect anyone who serves in the church. One church volunteer, unable to afford an education, received a scholarship grant from the church community to attend college.

God knows how to reward his faithful servant. He will send people to act as instruments to help his faithful servant. These faithful church servants are always blessed because they serve their God truthfully and faithfully.

Call to Action for Catholic Living: Let us be grateful for our blessings and share them with others in need.

Lord, help us to be your faithful servants, Amen!

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
