All creation of life is God’s reflection of presence
February 6, Monday, 5th Week in Ordinary Time
Genesis 1: 1-19; Mark 6:53-56
The story of creation tells that God is the author of all life. All creatures are to give glory to God.
Thus, the Psalmist prays: “Praise the Lord from the earth, you sea creatures and all the oceans, fire and hail, snow and mist, stormy winds that obey his word; all mountains and hills, all fruit tress and cedars, beasts, wild and tame…” (Psalm 148).
All of creation is good! “God saw that it was good!” Pope Francis in “Laudato Si” exhorted us to respect the order God has set over creation. How truly sad it is that because of irresponsibility of man, driven by greed, our common home has suffered much abuse. The Phenomenon we call “climate change” is upon us because we have abused mother earth.
As all of God’s creation is a reflection of God’s presence, we should ask God for forgiveness for He is the One we are offending whenever we inflict harm on the creation, He has graced us.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
