Study results on Philippine’s nominal and lapsed Catholics will be "Released" on July 15

A priest from the Archdiocese of Manila has made a study on the nominal and lapsed Catholics in the Philippines and its results will be presented on July 15.

Father Jason H. Laguerta, the head of the Archdiocesan Institute for Research and Development (AIRD) of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila, has undertaken the study.

He is also the head of the Office for the Promotion of New Evangelization of the Archdiocese of Manila.

The results of the study will be presented during the 5th general assembly of SIGNIS Philippines. The event will occur at the Communication Foundation for Asia, a pioneer in development communication, established in 1968.

SIGNIS is an abbreviation of "SIGN" and "IGNIS" (Latin for "fire").

SIGNIS Philippines is the country’s chapter of SIGNIS, the global association of Catholic communicators.

SIGNIS Philippines invites all Catholic communicators to join the general assembly.

According to Bernard Cañaberal, President of SIGNIS Philippines, after Father Laguerta presents the results of the research, an action workshop to develop intervention programs will be discussed.

Bishop Marcelino Antonio Malabanan Maralit of Boac, chairman of the Commission on Social Communications and Mass Media of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, will celebrate the Mass during the one-day program. -Santosh Digal

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
