The All Manipur Catholic Union (AMCU), in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Imphal in the northeastern state of Manipur, organized a one-day seminar for armed forces, police, security personnel, public servants, and government employees at the Retreat House Hall in Mantripukhri, Imphal, on February 8, 2025.

This event, held in observance of the Jubilee Year 2025, aimed to appreciate their dedicated service to society.

The seminar commenced with a Holy Mass presided over by Fr. Dr. Ngaoni Paul, chancellor of the Archdiocese of Imphal, who acknowledged the selfless contributions of Catholic personnel in uniform and assured them of the Church’s prayers and support.

Dr. Mathew Kamei, AMCU President, delivered the welcome address, setting the stage for insightful discussions.

Fr. Dr. T.S. Dominic, parish priest of Awangkhul, presented a lecture on "The Role of Laity according to the Second Vatican Council," emphasizing the vital mission of lay Catholics in evangelization.

Fr. Joseph M. Thohrii, vice principal of St. Joseph's College, Ukhrul, spoke on “Transformative Leadership of Laity in the Catholic Church in the 21st Century,” encouraging participants to lead by example in society.

A highlight of the event was the release of Fr. Thohrii’s book, Pearls of Life, by Archbishop Emeritus Dominic Lumon of Imphal, in the presence of AMCU officials, priests, and over 100 officers.

The author’s mother, Mrs. Sania Philomina, was also present, making the occasion even more memorable.

The Catholic Church worldwide celebrates Jubilee Year 2025 as a time of hope, faith, and unity.

This event reflected the spirit of the Jubilee, inspiring the Catholic faithful to embrace their role in society with renewed commitment and purpose.
