A Filipino bishop has urged Social Communicators in the Diocese of Antipolo: Speak the truth, do what is right; and be honest.

January 25, 2025, the Diocese of Antipolo diocese celebrates the Jubilee for Social Communications at the Minor Basilica and Parish of St. John the Baptist in Taytay, Rizal.

The event is spearheaded by Father France Baasis, Diocese of Antipolo Director for Social Communications, together with his team.

The program commenced with a Holy Mass. In his homily, Bishop Ruperto Cruz Santos reminded all social communication members to be mindful of their words, especially around children.

He also emphasized the importance of speaking truthfully, doing what is right, and maintaining integrity in all interactions.

"Speak slowly. There is a child. Be careful. There is a child listening,” he urged, highlighting that children often imitate what they hear from adults.

Bishop Santos shared three guiding principles for effective communication:

1. Totoo (Truthful) - Speak the truth, not just what others want to hear.

2. Tama (Right) - Choose to do what is good and beautiful.

3. Tapat (Honest) - Be steadfast in fulfilling your responsibilities.

“Let us carry these values in our social communications: Totoo. Tama. Tapat,” he said.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
