Filipino priest dies in Spain while on pilgrimage
A Filipino priest died while on pilgrimage in Spain on June 3.
Father Kristian Noel Sibbaluca, a priest of the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao, Cagayan Valley, had a heart attack and died, according to sources. He was 40 years old.
"We deeply regret to announce the passing of Father Kristian Noel Sibbaluca. We received news that he had a heart attack while on pilgrimage in Spain. Please join us in offering a prayer for his soul," said a press note from the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao.
He was born in San Jose, Baggao, Cagayan, on November 6, 1983.
He was ordained a priest by Tuguegarao Archbishop Diosdado Talamayan at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Baggao, Cagayan, on July 6, 2011.
During his 12 years as a priest, he held several responsibilities, such as youth director of the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao, chaplain at the state-run University of Cagayan Valley, director of the archdiocesan-run Lyceum de Amulung, Cordova, archdiocesan in-charge of ministry for women and children, and Tuguegarao archdiocesan school supervisor.
Sibbaluca was the former parochial vicar at Our Lady of Snows Parish, Centro, Enrile, and the former parish priest at St. Vincent Ferrer Parish, Brgy. Cordova, Amulung, Cagayan North, former assistant parish priest at Our Lady of Snows Parish, Centro, Enrile, Cagayan North, among others.
