Cuabo Diocesan Shrine of Jesus Divine Word in Philippines to offer new Bible study program
The Diocesan Shrine of Jesus the Divine Word, in partnership with the Diocese of Cubao Biblical Apostolate and other institutions, is to offer a new Bible study program starting in August.
The Certificate in Biblical Studies (CBS) is a collaborative project of the Catholic Biblical Association of the Philippines (CBAP) and Society of the Divine Word (SVD) institutions—SVD Biblical Apostolate, Christ the King Seminary (onsite venue), and Divine Word Seminary Tagaytay.
Father Randy Flores, SVD, the director of the Biblical Apostolate, Diocese of Cubao, said that through the CBS program, one will embark on a transformative journey into the depths of the Holy Scriptures, its historical and socio-cultural context, and its profound relevance in both liturgical settings and daily life.
The CBS program is open to anyone who is a devout Biblical Apostolate practitioner, an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), a church volunteer, a member of a church organization or covenanted community, a catechist, a religious education teacher, a religious individual (nun, brother, seminarian), a CBAP observer, a bible enthusiast, or a faith seeker residing in the Philippines or abroad.
The program is designed to deepen one’s understanding of the Sacred Scriptures, enhance one’s ability to teach and share one's wisdom and equip one with the knowledge and tools one needs.
The list of subjects offered includes Introduction to the Bible as Sacred Scriptures, Liturgy and the Bible, Jesus Christ Through the Centuries, History and Archeology of Biblical Israel, The Pentateuch and the Historical Books, The Prophetic Literature, The Sapiential Literature, and Psalms, The Synoptic Gospels: Matthew and Mark; Luke’s Gospel and Acts of the Apostles; Pauline Letters; Johannine Literature; The Catholic Epistles and Revelation; and Biblical Apostolate.
Members and professors of the Catholic Biblical Association of the Philippines (CBAP) who hold degrees from pontifical universities and institutes teach all subjects.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
