Rajshahi diocese in Bangladesh arranged a seminar for diocesan Catechists and prayer leaders at Christo Jyoti (Light) Pastoral Centre from June 15 to 18.
The Rajshahi diocesan's Pontifical Missionary Societies (PMS) are in charge of organizing this training workshop. Their works include the Propagation of Faith of Saint Peter, the Apostle of the Holy Childhood, and the Missionary Union.
The main aim of this program is to teach and build faith in Christianity and train catechists and Prayer leaders in the diocese.
The theme of this training workshop was "Evangelism and the Synodal Church." About 48 catechists and Prayer leaders from different diocesan parishes participated in the event.
Bishop Gervas Rozario said, "When I live for myself, it is not giving life, but when I live for others, help others, and do selfless work for others, then it means giving life in the true sense."
The Bishop thanked the catechists for their active participation in evangelizing the diocese.
Father Pius Gomes, Director of diocesan Pontifical Missionary Societies, told the catechists that “in the light of the Vatican Council,” they are “like Priests, nuns, and Religious Brothers and sisters, continue this education according to the teaching of Christ."
"Our main objective was for catechists to know the basics of the Christian faith, which will play a helpful role in their preaching," said Father Gomes.
Sagarika Gomes, who participated in this training program, said, "In short, I learned a lot through this workshop, which will help me in Preaching the Good News."
Catechist Master Sushil Tudu, working in the Rajshahi diocese,e said, "It is the responsibility of all Christians to preach the Good News. An exemplary preacher of Christ's love in our diocese. "
"May we become the life-giving word of Christ and take it to heart to spread it with our lives among people," said the Catechist Master. - Nikhil Gomes
