Prediction on the passion
25th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Daily Readings: Wisdom 2:12,17-20, James 3:16,4:3 & Mark 9: 30 – 37
Reflection Date: September 19, 2021
What were you arguing about on the way?
If you were Jesus, you would be deeply frustrated at the hard-headedness of the disciples. Here He is, telling them of his forthcoming passion, death, and resurrection and what do they talk about? They are discussing among themselves on the way as to who is the greatest.
Patiently He corrects them and tells them a lesson which, after many centuries, many of His followers and Church leaders have not been able to grasp: "if anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all." To be great is to serve the little ones. In them, one serves Jesus and the Father who sent Jesus.
Yes, greatness comes through service. Let us take this lesson to heart and practice it.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
