Marriage and Family Life: A Sacred Commitment

Daily Readings: Ezekiel 16:1-15, 60, 63; Matthew 19:3-12
Today’s Gospel features a conversation between Jesus and the Pharisees about divorce, marriage, and family life.
Jesus emphasizes that marriage, a sacred institution created by God, represents the union of two individuals who vow to love, cherish, and support each other for life.
This bond brings joy, comfort, and a sense of belonging, shaping identities, creating families, and building lasting connections.
When questioned about divorce, Jesus cites Genesis 1:27 and 2:24, describing man and woman as one flesh, indicating that divorce should not be taken lightly. He teaches that while God allowed divorce due to the hardness of hearts, it was never His original intention.
Marriage is meant to be a lifelong commitment, with exceptions only for adultery and infidelity.
In today's world, many families face challenges such as financial stress, parenting responsibilities, and personal differences, leading to broken relationships.
Despite these difficulties, handling family life with love and commitment is crucial. A family rooted in love is blessed and resilient.
