Memorial of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Daily Readings: Ezekiel 36:23-28; Matthew 22:1-14

The parable of the wedding banquet tells of a king who prepares a feast for his son and invites guests who shockingly refuse to attend, dishonoring the king and the event.

In response, the king extends the invitation to all, demonstrating the boundless openness and generosity of his call.

However, one guest arrives without proper wedding attire and is cast out, highlighting that while the invitation is open to everyone, there is an expectation of readiness and respect.

The lack of proper attire symbolizes the need for personal transformation in response to God's grace. Accepting the invitation requires more than just showing up; it demands a sincere, heartfelt response that aligns with the king’s standards.

How do we respond to God’s invitations in our own lives? Are there aspects of our faith or behavior that cause us to reject or take His call for granted?

This parable serves as a reminder to stay open and attentive to God’s invitations, even when they challenge or disrupt our routines.

Call to Action for Catholic Living: God desires all people to share in the joy of His Kingdom, beyond all social and geographical boundaries. Let us prepare ourselves by living according to Gospel values, ready to enter the feast He has prepared. Amen.
