National Fatima convention marks Centenary of the five first Saturdays Devotion in Philippines

The event will take place at the Mary Mother of Hope Chapel, 4th level, Landmark Trinoma, Quezon City.

The World Apostolate of Fatima of the Philippines, in collaboration with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cubao, and Landmark Trinoma Mall, will host the National Fatima Convention on December 10, 2024, commemorating the Centenary of the Five First Saturdays Devotion.

The convention will take place at the Mary Mother of Hope Chapel, located on the 4th level of Landmark Trinoma, at the corner of North Avenue and Mindanao Avenue, Quezon City.

Renowned guest speaker Sr. Angela de Fatima Coelho, Postulator of the Causes of Canonization for Saints Francisco and Jacinta Marto, Vice Postulator of the Cause of Canonization for Sr. Lucia dos Santos, and Superior General of the Aliança de Santa Maria from Portugal, will lead the event.

Themed “The Story Continues: Know, Live, and Spread the Fatima Message,” the convention aims to gather attendees from across the Philippines to disseminate the authentic message of Fatima as approved by the Church.

Key focuses include the Communion of Reparation on the Five First Saturday of the month and the consecration of the country and the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

The event also seeks to implement the Five First Saturdays Devotion nationwide, as recommended by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines.

Marian devotees, members of church organizations (Fatima and Marian groups), parishioners, particularly those from Fatima and Immaculate Heart of Mary Parishes, and all interested Catholics are encouraged to attend.

The World Apostolate of Fatima recognized as a public international association of the faithful by the Vatican on October 7, 2005, the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, was founded by Father Harold Colgan and Mr. John Haffert in the United States in 1947.

Originally known as the Blue Army, the movement quickly grew into a global apostolate with millions of members and national centers worldwide, eventually adopting the name "World Apostolate of Fatima."

This apostolate promotes the authentic teachings of the Catholic Church and strict adherence to the Gospel; the personal sanctification of members through faithful adherence to the message of the Blessed Virgin Mary delivered in Fatima, Portugal, in 1917 to three young shepherds, Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta Marto; and the promotion of the common good by spreading this message.

The international headquarters of the World Apostolate of Fatima are situated in Fatima, Portugal.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
